The Presiding Member of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Alfred Asiedu Adjei, is worried about the allocation of an open lavatory in Mamprobi to a private developer.

Speaking to Johnnie Hughes on 3FM Sunrise Morning show on April 24, the Presiding member of the AMA said they have not been informed about the decision.

Adjei stated, “I’m yet to find out if any contract has been signed on that particular set piece of land because I’ve also gotten a lot of calls from that particular news.”

He underscored the necessity of ensuring that decisions are made with the involvement of the General Assembly, the highest decision-making body within the AMA.

Highlighting the significance of community input, Adjei acknowledged the concerns raised by residents of Mamprobi regarding the allocation of the public toilet to a private developer.

“I do get the same sentiment from the people because you know, looking at Mamprobi community, where I’m coming from, definitely they need to have public toilets, so I really understand the sentiment and I share that same sentiment with whoever sent that message,” he explained.

He also expressed his intention to investigate further into the matter, including consulting with relevant departments and stakeholders within the AMA to ascertain the details of any agreements made regarding the sanitary site in Mamprobi.
