Akufo-Addo’s 1D1F lauded by ex-AGI Prez Oteng-Gyasi

Tony Oteng-Gyasi
Former President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) Dr Tony Oteng-Gyasi has lauded government’s flagship industrialization policy, One-District One-Factory Programme. The economist-cum-lawyer maintains that the concept “makes a lot of sense”. Speaking on TV3’s Time With The Captains on Monday, September 30, the Chief Executive Officer of Tropical Cable and Conductor Limited said he is for any government that makes industrialization a part and parcel of policy making. He said he had started a similar concept way before the government launched the programme in 2017. For him, he said policies like that offer employment to many young people. “If I can employ 10 [or] 20 people that I think is better than giving them handouts.” The 1D1F Programme is private sector-led, according to government. The business environment as well as incentive is what will be made available by government. “One-District One-Factory is excellent,” Dr Oteng-Gyasi stressed, but indicated that as an entrepreneur he does not need to be approached to join in. “[This is] because I am doing my own 1D1F.” Source: editors.3news.com|Ghana
