Akufo-Addo has destroyed the NPP; he’s to blame for our defeat – Outgoing NPP MP

President Nana Akufo-Addo has been identified as one of the primary reasons for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) loss in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections, according to Edward Ennin, the outgoing Member of Parliament for Obuasi East.
In an interview with Berla Mundi on TV3 on Monday, December 9, 2024, Ennin attributed the party’s defeat to the actions and decisions of President Akufo-Addo. “The president is also somebody we should blame for this defeat,” he stated.
Ennin emphasized that he was not surprised by the NPP’s defeat, citing internal issues within the party as contributing factors. He pointed out that the sidelining of certain individuals and the perceived corruption within the party were significant reasons for their loss.

“It had to do with the corruption that people were talking about, and the president wasn’t ready to do anything about it,” Ennin added.
He also asked the party to bring back the likes of Alan Kyerematen, Boakye Agyarko, Hopeson Adorye, etc.
The outgoing MP’s comments reflect a broader sentiment of dissatisfaction within the NPP, as the party grapples with the aftermath of the election results.
