About 60 percent of Polling station results received at constituency collation centers – EC

The Electoral Commission (EC) says 60 percent of polling station results have been received at the constituency collation centres with 40 percent yet to be received.

Providing updates on the electoral process after polls were closed, Deputy Chairman of the EC, Samuel Tettey said collation are currently underway in all 276 constituency collation centres with requests of a second request at one polling station.

“Reports from the regions indicates that about 60 percent of the polling station results have been received at the constituency collation centres.

“We also have reports of the number of second requests for recounts at polling stations. So far, we have only one polling station which is the Suaman constituency in the Western North Region which has recorded a second recount for votes by the Returning officer.

The Deputy Commissioner in charge of Operations at the EC, Samuel Tetteh said the regional and national collation centres will be accessible to only accredited persons with each candiadates permitted to have only two agents at the collation centres.

“There is no need for the collation centres to be over crowded,” he said.
