Ablekuma North collation: Chaos mars seventh attempt of re-collation; thugs damage EC property

Some individuals have besieged the Electoral Commission’s office in Greater Accra, disrupting the seventh recollation exercise of the Ablekuma North constituency election results.

The thugs, reportedly supporters of the NDC and the NPP damaged several louvre blades at the EC’s office following the eruption of chaos at the office.

The EC is contemplating whether or not to continue with the re-collation of Ablekuma North parliamentary results following the invasion of the thugs at the centre.

The individuals claim the EC’s work is over, hence, the commission cannot carry on with any “dubious” exercise to declare the NPP candidate winner.

This is the seventh time the EC is about to recollate results for the Ablekuma North constituency after the December 7 2024 elections. The EC has re-collated results for Ablekuma North constituency six times without a final declaration of the winner.

Currently, there is a legal tussle about the Ablekuma North elections while the EC is also yet to re-collate results for some pink sheets.
