Two Canadian women on an exchange programme in Kumasi have allegedly been kidnapped in the Ashanti Regional capital. Checks by editors.3news.com revealed the two women, one of whose name has been given as Lauren, were forced into a vehicle at about 8:20pm just when they stepped out of their apartment at Silver Spring Avenue. It is unclear whether the abductors have made contact with the family of the victims or the Canadian embassy to demand for ransom. Sources however say the Canadian Embassy Ghana, which is aware of the incident, is assisting the Ghana Police to rescue the two victims, editors.3news.com gathered Wednesday. Lauren and her other colleague who are on exchange programme with the Entrepreneurship Department of the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), are said to be part of a volunteer group working in Ghana.
