NDC won’t leave power on a silver platter – Nana Addo

Leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has charged supporters of the party to work extra hard in order to secure victory in 2016.

According to him, the battle will not be easy given what happened in the Talensi Constituency on Tuesday, July 7 during a by-election which saw the ruling party’s candidate emerging winner.

“We can do it but first of all we need to all come together and recognize that we are going to have to work very, very hard,” Nana Addo said.

“There is no way these people will hand victory to us on a silver platter. We are going to work hard at it. We have all seen what happened in Talensi, all the mobilization that took place there, let’s expect the same across the nation in 2016 but if we are strong together, we work our polling station organistaion well, the people of Ghana are supporting us and that support will take us through victory in 2016.”

Nana Addo was speaking on Thursday, when the party’s 2016 parliamentary candidate for La Dadekotopon Constituency, Vincent Sowah Odotei, called on him at his residence.

The football administrator is among fresh faces hoping to deliver victory for the party in next year’s elections.

Nana Addo reiterated that: “The Ghanaian people are looking at us to make the push that will give them a decent government, a government that will begin the process of transforming our country and lifting the country up.”

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) reclaimed power from the NPP in 2008, having ruled Ghana from 1992 to 2000, when John Kufuor won NPP the elections.
