NDC to launch manifesto in 2 wks, Mahama to drop hint of content

Mahama white 1The National Democratic Congress (NDC) would launch its manifesto in two weeks after launching its campaign for the December 2016 elections.
The party says due to the new date announced for the general election which is now December 7, its timetable has also been amended to suit the period.
National Organiser and a member of the campaign team of the party, Kofi Adams told TV3 in an interview that after internal deliberations the party has decided to launch its manifesto two weeks after the campaign has been launched.
He said “per our programming, we scheduled 7th of August to launch our campaign and 21st August for the manifesto launch. Now that we have shifted by one week, the campaign team would have to check to find out the availability of the president, John Mahama on 27th or 28th.
“If his schedule would allow him to be available around the time then we would go ahead to launch our manifesto on the 28th. The manifesto is ready.”
Meanwhile President John Mahama is expected to give snippets of the content of the manifesto when he addresses party supporters at the Cape Coast stadium.
3news.com has however picked hints that the theme for NDC’s 2016 manifesto would be similar to the campaign theme which is “Transforming Ghana, Changing Lives”.
The 2012 manifesto theme was “Advancing the Better Ghana Agenda”.

Manifesto feud:
The governing NDC and the NPP have accused each other of plagiarism of manifesto promises. For this reason both parties have held onto their manifestoes waiting for each other to launch.
It looks though that the NDC would take the first step in that direction.
