NDC sack staff for issuing presidential forms to Mahama’s challenger

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) have concluded investigations into the circumstances that led to the issuing of presidential nomination forms to George Boateng last Monday.

According to the party, those forms were not sealed by the General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who is the returning officer of the November 7 nationwide primaries.

As per the conclusion of investigations, all staff including the accountant present at the party’s headoffice in Adabraka during the issuing of forms to Mr Boateng have been sacked.

Mr Boateng, 45, has also been ordered to return the forms, which he paid GH¢1,000 for.

The decision by the party was disclosed on Thursday, September 3, when Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur picked forms on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama for the primaries.

Mr Boateng, who is a Youth Organiser of the party at the Oyarifa Branch in the Madina Constituency, says he wants to challenge the current leader because of poor management of the economy especially in handling some of the social-intervention policies like the NHIS given the party’s creed as a social democratic party.
