NDC national executive to visit Manhyia Constituency

A high–powered delegation of National Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) left Accra Sunday, December 2, 2012 for Kumasi to assess the political situation in Ashanti Newtown, in the wake of the recent violence reported in the area.

The delegation, led by the general secretary of the NDC, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, is expected to meet the Manhyia Constituency and Ashanti Regional executives of the party to update them on events that led to the shooting of an NDC supporter at Ashanti Newtown a couple of days ago. The delegation is expected to visit victims of the incident to wish them speedy recovery and reassure them of the party’s commitment to ensure that they received the needed healthcare.

Other members of the delegation are Naval Captain (rtd) Kojo Buta, chairman of NDC finance Committee and Madam Anita de Sooso, national women organizer

Some NDC supporters are also nursing various degrees of injury from the incident which is currently under police investigation.
