Nana Yaw Amponsah wants 100,000 fans to contribute $100 each for Kotoko stadium

Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Nana Yaw Amponsah aims to build a stadium for the former African champions and wants fans to fund the project.

Amponsah since his appointment in August 2020 has transformed Kotoko. The club have become competitive on the field as they are in a good position to win this season’s Ghana Premier League.

Off the field, Kotoko’s brand has soared, attracting several sponsors. Recently, a deal with Access Bank saw the Porcupine Warriors receive a brand new 36-seater bus.

But Amponsah wants more and has set sights on building a stadium.

“I will build a stadium for Asante Kotoko within 18 months if I should get 100,000 committed supporters to contribute $100 each.”

“Anyone who pays $100 for the Asante Kotoko stadium project, will have his or her name and date of birth on the block forever,” Amponsah said on Oyerepa FM on Monday.

Kotoko are 10 points clear at the top of the league following Sunday’s 2-0 win over Dreams FC in Kumasi.
