President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Sunday made a short return trip to Nigeria.
In what he describes as an “informal visit”, President Akufo-Addo met the Acting President of the Federal Republic, Professor Yemi Osibanjo.
The reason for the visit is not immediately known though it comes a couple of days ahead of the 29th African Union Summit scheduled to begin Tuesday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Moments after the Nigeria visit, Ghana’s president tweeted on his official handle.
He was accompanied by Foreign Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, National Security Minister Albert Kan Dapaa and his Executive Secretary, Nana Asante Bediatuo.I paid an informal visit to Nigeria this afternoon where I called on the acting President, Prof Yemi Osibanjo ahead of next week’s AU Summit pic.twitter.com/sFXfu2MM7P
