The former radio presenter polled 219 out of 419 votes to win the party’s parliamentary primary on Saturday.
His closest contender, John Obiri-Yeboah, polled 145 votes with a third contender, Bright Acquah, getting 40 votes.
Immediately after the Electoral Commission declared the results, Nana Addo took to Twitter to congratulate the 33-year-old.
“Welcome on board,” Nana Addo added in his tweet.
The leading opposition party in the country elected its 2016 parliamentary candidates in nationwide polls on Saturday, June 13.
Nana Addo took ample time on Twitter to congratulate all winners including Yaw Buaben Asamoa (Adenta), Dr Nana Ayew Afriyie (Effiduase/Asokore), Joe Osei Owusu (Bekwai) among others.
