Sulley Muntari recorded his first goal contribution in Hearts of Oak shirt on Saturday as the Phobians were held by Legon Cities.
Muntari’s well-taken corner was headed into the net by Isaac Mensah to give Hearts the lead in the first period.
But with the 37-year-old substituted, Cities grabbed a late equaliser through Osman Amadu to deny Hearts victory and a good start to the second round.
Hearts have now failed to record a win in four games and will be 14 points behind leaders Kotoko should the Porcupine Warriors beat Dreams FC on Sunday.
Cities on the other hand are unbeaten in four games with two wins and two draws.
Saturday’s game took place at Cities’ new home, El Wak Stadium, much to the dismay of fans as the venue is not suitable for top-level football.
The terrible pitch made things difficult for both sides.
