Monday is a holiday

In view of the fact that 18th July 2015, which marks Eid-Ul-Fitr falls on a Saturday but a statutory holiday, President John Dramani Mahama has declared Monday, July 20 as a public holiday, a statement from government says.

The statement issued by the Minister of Interior, Mark Woyongo, on Thursday said the president made the declaration as per by Executive Instrument.

“The general public is hereby, informed that Monday 20th July 2015, has been declared a public holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.”

Saturday’s Eid marks the end of Muslims’ 30 days of fasting which began on June 18.
