Seven beauty queens are set to battle it out for the maiden Miss Tema Homowo as the metropolis marks 60 years of resettlement. The Miss Tema Homowo 2019 beauty pageant was put together by Menscourt Entertainments with the aim of empowering young ladies in Tema and its environs. It is also seen as a way of educating the masses on Ga Dangme Tradition. The much anticipated event is scheduled for Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Naval Base, Junior Officers Mess at Tema Newtown in the evening. The contest was not limited to only women in Tema or the Ga’s but was opened to persons who are eloquent and bold. “We decided to meet the Traditional Council for their approval & support, they gladly approved because they also realized it was a worthy cause. This is a pageantry that has come to stay because aside it empowering women, it’s here to build the confidence of many young ladies and as well as make them more productive,” a statement issued by the event organisers noted. As the momentum gathers and the excitement for the Miss Tema Homowo 2019 reaches fever pitch, the question begging for answer remains: Who Wears The Crown? The contestants for the Miss Tema Homowo 2019 are: Grace Akuetteh, Mabel Dede Cudjoe, Omane Acheamfour Ernestina and Flora Naa Adjeley Adjei. The rest are: Pheobe Naadei Ashie, Puplampu Augustina, and Grace Atsw3i Akuetteh. Activities that were lined up ahead of the night included Cooking Competition and Back to the 80s Festival held on July 27 and August 3 respectively.
