Minority boycotts Appointments Committee sitting?

The Appointments Committee of Parliament resumed sitting on Monday, January 30 with only one Member from the Minority side.

Only the Member of Parliament for Hohoe Constituency, Dr Bernice Adiku Heloo, was present before proceedings began.

Ranking Member on the Committee Haruna Iddrisu walked in later after vetting of the first nominee on the day, Dr Anthony Akoto Osei, had started.

Bodi MP Samson Ahi, Bawku Central’s Mahama Ayariga and Asawase’s Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed later joined in.

Chairman of the Committee Joseph Osei Owusu, in his brief remarks before the process, said most of the members are on an orientation workshop in Koforidua and will join sittings later.

He also dismissed allegations of bribery leveled against the Committee.
