METKA staff in fear after attack by Aboadze youth

Workers of METKA at Aboadze in the Western Region are said to be living in fear after youth of the area besieged the firm’s premises last Friday.

Reports gathered by say the youth attacked the company in demand for jobs they say are going to non-indigenes.

Speaking on anonymity, a worker told Connect FM’s Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson that the youth numbered about 100.

He said they were wielding “cudgels” and “other weapons”.

They attacked the whites and other Ghanaian workers, our local station reported.

Some workers were injured in the process.

A report has since been made to the police.
