Meghan Markle was noticeably absent as her husband, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, arrived in the UK for the burial of his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Phillip.
A spokesperson said the pregnant Duchess of Sussex could not travel because she did not receive medical clearance from her doctor.
Prince Harry arrived in the UK, after a year of hiatus from Royal Duties for the funeral of Prince Phillip, which will be held on the 17TH at St.George Chapel in Windsor Castle. According to BBC, only thirty members of the family (guests) in compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines in the UK.
Buckingham Palace released a statement following the death of Prince Charles. The Palace said, “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness Prince Phillip. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.”
The College of Arma also said that the late Prince would not have a state funeral in line with custom and his (Prince Phillip) wishes.
This visit is the first of Harry’s presence in the United Kingdom to mourn with his family. Since his announcement in January 2020 that he, together with his wife, Meghan Markle would be stepping back from their royal duties. The couple currently lives in Montecito, California.
