Media must be ‘professional and disciplined’ – Imani Ghana

The media have been challenged to exhibit a high sense of professionalism and discipline in the coverage of the upcoming general elections.

Speaking at a media briefing in Accra, Kofi Bentil, Policy Analyst and Vice President of Imani Ghana, admitted that the polarization of the country by a section of the media may plunge the country into a civil war if precautionary measures are not taken.

“If not well managed, the polarization of the country by a section of the media may spark violence ahead of the elections,” he said.

Chief Operating Officer of UT Holdings, Capt. Budu Koomson, also tasked the security agencies to show more commitment beyond assuring the public of not taking chances during elections.
