In keeping the catchphrase of being the first in News and best in Entertainment, the staff of Media General displayed their talents to entertain and educate viewers as some presenters teamed up to mark the New year holiday edition of the TV3 New Day show.
Staff were grouped into three teams: Shatta, Umofia, and ‘Wo Nan Naa’.
Team Shatta consisted of Anita Akua Akuffo, Daniel Yeboah, and Dr Preskese of Onua TV.
Team Umofia consisted of Nana Kwadwo Addo, AJ Poundz, Giovani Caleb and Nii Oblitey.
While Thierry Nyan, Yaw Ofosu Larbi and Chrystal Kwame represented Team Umofia.
Presenters were made to imitate some Ghanaian public figures and also quizzed on their knowledge on happenings in the country and worldwide.
Anita gave a hilarious performance mimicking social media sensation Twene Jonas. Nana Kwadwo Addo also did an impressive impersonation of dancehall artist Shatta Wale. And Thierry Nyan assuming the presidential role for a few minutes with Yaw Ofosu Larbi coming through with amusing sign language.
Notable artists like Fameye, Dope Nation, Bosom P-Yung and award-winning music producer, Possigee graced the show with entertaining performances and insightful interviews.
Participants were also quizzed on popular statements made by public figures across the world and the identification of songs.
The show was climaxed with individual performances from staff and presenters with Anita Akua Akuffo, Daniel Yeboah, Dr Prekese, Nana Kwadwo Addo, Nii Oblitey(displayed his rapping skills). Yaw Ofosu Larbi, Theirry Nyan and Giovani Caleb (displaying his vocal prowess) while Chrystal dazzled with enviable dancing skills.
As usual, DJ Faculty came through with some music to keep the show rolling to an upbeat tempo.
Social media viewers could not hide their excitement as they consistently shared performances of presenters with adoring feedback on several social media platforms of TV3. The hype was enough to get us trending Number one on the bird app, Twitter.
Indeed, TV3 is and will always be First in News and Best in Entertainment!
