Group CEO of leading media conglomerate in Ghana, Media General, Pearl Esua-Mensah has been named the new Chairperson for the board of directors of the Ashesi University.
Pearl Esua-Mensah takes over from Charles Cofie who served as Chairman of the board from 2015 to 2017.
The new Chairperson joined the University Board in 2014, and prior to being named Chairperson, served as head of the Board’s Finance Committee.
She has over 20 years of management experience in Banking and Finance, and also has experience in consulting for businesses across multiple sectors globally.
The Media General Group, which Pearl currently chairs their board boast of brands such as TV3, 3FM, Onua FM, Connect FM, Akoma FM and www.3news.com (MG Digital).
Until her appointment as Group CEO of Media General, she was the CEO of Feniks Ltd, a business consulting firm she founded to support the growth of medium sized and small businesses.
In 2014, she was named the Finance Personality of the Year at the National Women in Finance Awards.
She is a founding and Executive Council member of the Executive Women Network, a non-profit organisation committed to providing a platform for women to achieve their professional goals, to be influential and to fully realise their potential.
Pearl is an ACCA fellow (FCCA), with an MBA in Finance from Manchester Business School (UK), and a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Ghana.
