Mahama takes over from Obasanjo as TANA Forum Chairperson

Former President John Dramani Mahama has been named as the new Chairperson of the Tana Forum based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He takes over from former Nigeria President Olusegun Obasanjo, who has served the Forum since its inception in 2012. Ghana’s former leader was in Addis Ababa last Friday to deliver a public lecture at the Bahir Dar University as part of the 7th TANA High-Level Forum. He spoke on: ‘Self-Reliance in Africa’s Peace and Security’. After the Forum, Mr Mahama was named as the new Chair. He did not hide his gratitude for the “new responsibility”.
