John Mahama served as Ghana President while Mugabe was President of Zimbabwe[/caption]
Former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed sadness at the news of the passing of former Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe.
Comrade Mugabe, as he was affectionately known, died on Friday, September 6 in a Singaporean hospital.
Mr Mahama, whose reign as Ghana's leader saw Mr Mugabe also ruling Zimbabwe, said despite his flaws, the late leader “will always be remembered as a great fighter for freedom and a dedicated Pan Africanist”.
He tweeted on Friday a few hours after the news of Mugabe's death went viral.
Mr Mahama praised Mugabe for his great strides in education and healthcare.
