Former President John Dramani Mahama on Monday arrived in Kumasi to begin the second part of his campaign tour of the Ashanti Region.
Ahead of the National Delegates Congress of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Mahama toured more than half of the constituencies in the Ashanti Region, seeking the mandate of delegates to lead the party to victory in the 2020 elections.
Already, Mr Mahama’s flagbearership campaign tour has taken him to all constituencies in the Central, Upper West, Upper East, Northern, Brong Ahafo and Greater Accra regions.
He has been promising to modernise the activities of the NDC by helping constituencies to own party offices, building a reliable database of the human resource capacity of members as well as providing a mentorship programme for young people in the party.
Mr Mahama also says he is committed to working hard to provide jobs and reduce the high cost of living, when elected in the next presidential election.
The former President began his tour of the Ashanti Region on Monday, November 12 but had to break three days later to allow delegates of the party attend the 9th National Delegates’ Congress at the Accra International Trade Fair Centre.
He is expected to wrap up his tour of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday.
