President John Dramani Mahama has expressed shock at the gruesome murder of Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu on Tuesday, February 9.

President Mahama has revealed that he received the sad news “with shock”.

“Received news of my friend Hon. J. B. Danquah Adu’s murder with shock,” the president tweeted on Tuesday.

Mr Danquah Adu was stabbed several times, according to his family, at dawn on Tuesday at his East Legon residence.

Police have since launched investigations into the incident, having picked up six persons so far, for interrogation.

President Mahama expressed sympathies to the family of the late lawmaker, who had read a statement on the floor of Parliament last week to commemorate the death anniversary of his grandfather and member of Ghana’s Big Six JB Danquah.

“My heart goes out to his siblings, Frank etc, his wife & children,” the president wrote on his Twitter page.
