Mahama & National Security masterminded NPP HQ raid – Freddy Blay

The acting chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Freddy Blay has blamed President Mahama and national security for raiding and planting weapons at the party’s headquarters to create a false impression that the NPP is in tatters.

He said the event simply shows the desperation by President Mahama and the NDC to win the 2016 elections. The leadership of the NPP has stated that very vital documents including the party’s strategy to win the 2016 elections have been stolen.

Mr. Freddy Blay in his address indicated that the raiders which included on Danso – who claimed that he was an ex-soldier – is an NDC party member and is with the Suhum branch of the party.

He further indicated that some journalist have been paid by some unknown persons to “abandon their ethics” to report about the NPP to be make the party increasingly “unpopular”.

He asked journalist not to allow themselves to be used unduly to perpetrate evil.

Hundreds of party supporters gathered at the party headquarters clad in red and black to express their disapproval of the raid at their headquarters.

The 11 suspects have been granted police enquiry bail but the leadership of the party says the release of the persons is a clear indication that the government is involved in the masterminding the raid.

Key party functionaries including Vice President candidate, Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia, Communications Director, Nana Akomea, Members of Parliament, former chairman Haruna Esseku, some regional chairmen amongst others were at headquarters to lend their support.
