Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Nico Williams following the Spanish-born attacker’s breakthrough season in La Liga.
Williams, 20, scored three goals in 39 appearances for Athletic Bilbao last season, and Premier League clubs see him as a future star.
Williams, who is direct and agile, can operate from either flank and enjoys running at his full-back with pace.
It is hoped that after appearing against both Real Madrid and Barcelona last term, the winger will be able to excel once more in the upcoming season.
Williams recently stated that he wishes to take his time developing his game before deciding whether to represent Ghana or Spain at the senior international level.
Nico plays for Spain’s youth teams, but his elder Iñaki Williams’ switch, has raised hopes of Ghanaians that Nico will do the same.
“I have been watching the Black Stars. I always want to see them [play] and learn from them,” he told 3Sports.
“I am so young at the moment and I’m focusing on myself, working hard. Whether it is Spain or Ghana [I don’t know yet]. I want to be the best and when the time comes, I will [make the decision],” he stated.
Nico Williams made his debut for Athletic Bilbao in April 2021 and is slowly establishing himself as a key player for the team.
