Asante Kotoko remain four points clear at the top of the Ghana Premier League after a 1-1 draw at Liberty Professionals in Sogakope on Sunday afternoon.
Centre back Abdul Ganiyu powered a header into the net to snatch a point for Kotoko after Liberty had taken the lead in the first half through a former Porcupine Warrior Evans Owusu’s long-range strike which surprisingly beat Razak Abalora.
Kotoko’s rivals in the title race Great Olympics and Medeama dropped points again. Olympics were beaten 1-0 by Ashgold in Obuasi while Aduana condemned Medeama to a 2-0 defeat in Dormaa.
They have been overtaken by Karela United, who moved to second with a 2-0 victory over Eleven Wonders.
But Hearts of Oak can move to second and two points behind Kotoko as they face Elmina Sharks later on Sunday.
Also on Sunday, Inter Allies achieved an incredible 5-0 victory against Berekum Chelsea. They are now three points from safety mark.
