Late goal rescues point for Hearts of Oak in Dawu

Salim Adams’ goal in injury-time saved a point for the Hearts of Oak in an entertaining game against Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League on Christmas Day.

Adams scored in the 95th minute to stun Dreams as the match ended 2-2 at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.

The Phobians came into the game in good form following two consecutive victories and took the lead in the 30th minute.

Forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh beat Dreams goalkeeper Godfred Amoh with a stunning outside the box strike.

Hearts, however, failed to protect their lead. They lost it before halftime, with Dreams capitalising on an error by second-choice goalkeeper Richmond Ayi.

Ayi misjudged a cross and Ibrahim Issah was there to punish him.

Dreams FC went ahead for the first time in the 82nd minute courtesy of Ismael Dede’s calm finish.

The goal looked to have earned the home side victory, but Adams’ unstoppable volley snatched a point for Hearts.

Dreams after the draw have 15 points, five more than Hearts who have three outstanding games.
