Kwesi Appiah wishes Black Stars well ahead of Ghana-Uganda game

Black Stars striker Kwesi Appiah has wished his team mates well ahead of their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations opener on Tuesday.

Ghana play Uganda at the Stade de Port-Gentil in Group D in the first match at the 20,000-capacity stadium.

Appiah, who was part of the squad that placed 2nd two years ago, wrote on Twitter:

Today our tournament begins! Good luck to all the guys @ghanafaofficial It's our time! ?? #BlackStars #afcon2017 ??

The Crystal Palace striker has battled injury since the Equatorial Guinea tourney, making him feature fewer times for his national team.

Appiah scored the 2nd goal in Ghana’s 3-0 win over Guinea in Equatorial Guinea

He was awarded the Fair Player of the 2015 tournament, which saw the Stars lose to Ivory Coast in the finals.

Appiah scored a goal in Ghana’s 3-0 win over Guinea in the quarter-final of that tournament.
