Kwabena Agyapong’s office not ransacked – NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has denied reports making rounds on social media that the office of its General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, was ransacked on Monday, June 1.

“Reports that the General Secretary’s office was ransacked yesterday, for which pictures are currently being circulated on several social media platforms, are totally and completely false,” a release issued on Tuesday, June 2 by Communications Director Nana Akomea stressed.

It said the pictures are those of the office of the secretary to Mr Agyepong.

According to Mr Akomea the office received some levels of vandalism on Thursday, May 21 when news of the late Upper East Region Chairman Adams Mahama reached Accra.

“This unfortunate incident occurred at a time when emotions at the headquarters had reached fever pitch.

“The act is indeed regrettable, and all steps to ensure that the perpetrators of this cowardly act are identified and punished are being undertaken.”

It is unclear who shared the pictures and for what purpose those pictures were shared. It comes after a resignation letter purported to have been written by Mr Agyepong also reached some media firms. He vehemently denied ever writing such letter.
