Kumasi Asante Kotoko have sacked head coach Maxwell Konadu following their defeat to Accra Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League on Thursday, December 17 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors appointed Maxwell Konadu as their head coach on December 9, 2019 on a three year deal but has been fired after a year into the contract.
The club said in a statement that assistant coach Johnson Smith will take charge until a new appointment is made.
“Management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club wishes to inform the general public that it has decided to part ways with Coach Maxwell Konadu as its Head Coach with immediate effect.
“Coach Johnson Smith has been appointed to lead the team in the interim” they tweeted.
Konadu has won a game out of five this season and lost his last game at home Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko will play Dreams FC next at Dawu.
