Asante Kotoko have left Accra for Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, for Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup qualifying match.
Kotoko play Kariobangi Sharks at the Kasarani Stadium in the first leg of the first round of qualifiers.
Sharks scaled past Djibouti’s Solar7 in a 9-1 aggregate win to reach this stage.
The Porcupine Warriors, on the other hand, had a walkover after Cameroon failed to meet a deadline to present a second team for the competition.
As a result, Kotoko are yet to kick a ball in competitive action ahead of the game. They have not played since Ghana has been without domestic club football after the investigation by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
But they have been superb in training, wrapping up on Sunday with a 3-0 victory over the Black Meteors.
Kotoko will be in Nairobi on Wednesday. They went via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Coach Charles Akonnor on Monday released his 18-man squad for Saturday’s encounter.
The second leg is scheduled to be played exactly a week later, definitely at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
