Kotoko leave for Zambia

Kotoko beat ZESCO Utd 2-1 in their last match

Asante Kotoko have begun their journey to Zambia, where they will play Nkana FC in their second away game in the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup.

Kotoko on Wednesday left Accra to Ethiopia, where they will connect to a Lusaka-bound flight.

But the encounter on Sunday will be in the Zambian city of Kitwe, precisely at the Nkana Stadium.

Kotoko lost their first game away to Sudan’s Al Hilal but returned home to beat ZESCO United 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in their second Group C game.

The game in Kitwe will be the final first round encounter.

Group C is wide open as all four clubs have won their home games.

Group C

  1. ZESCO United (3pts)

2. Al Hilal (3pts)

3. Asante Kotoko (3pts)

4. Nkana FC (3pts)

Nkana beat Al Hilal the last time despite losing 0-2 to ZESCO in their first game.

A consecutive home game for them on Sunday puts them in pole position of going top despite currently bottom of the group.

A win or at least a draw for the Ghanaians will give them a massive boost as they host the Zambians next week.
