Founder and leader of the United Renaissance Party, Kofi Wayo, has lauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for scrapping the policy that allowed government officials to purchase state vehicles when leaving office.
The President in announcing the new decision Monday said the policy, which has worked over the years, has now been abused by government officials in recent years.

Commenting on the issue Tuesday morning on Onua FM, Mr Wayo said government officials have taken advantage of the policy for far too long while the ordinary people have been suffering.
“ I am very happy about the President’s comment. It is long overdue. The suffering is too much” he said, adding “Nana Addo should ensure that the directive works. All those leaders didn’t see that, this is a small beginning but this is very, very good. I hope he means it”.
