It’s Fridaaaaay; the last working day of the week and arguably, the best day for most workers and students in Ghana as they always look forward to weekends to de-stress in a fun way.
As usual, most people will begin their weekend today as they hang-out with friends, colleagues and love ones at various entertainment joints in the capital city to unwind or “chillax”.
This weekend, a lot of exciting programmes and events are lined up for fun-loving people in Accra.
Friday will begin with the unveiling of nominations for the 8th edition of the RTP Awards by the organizers, Big Events Ghana, at exactly 2:00pm.
The event will be a gathering of people in the media, particularly those in the radio and television sphere.
Lovers of traditional, good old tunes can also begin their weekend this Friday at the National Theatre where the Dromo Naa Band will from exactly 7:00pm, hold a highlife concert ahead of this year’s Homowo celebrations.You wouldn’t wanna miss this, especially if you’re a Ga or love Ga music and dance.
Saturday will be packed and offers a variety of events for all kinds of fun lovers. Here are some of them.
The day will begin with “Kenkey for the Needy” at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park between 10:00am to 9:00pm. If you’re a Ga kenkey addict, you don’t have to miss this. Be there to taste the best kenkey while helping the needy!It is being held by Tatas and Friends as an act of giving back to society
In the night, the Alliance Française will offer patrons of its programmes an unforgettable night with the hosting of “Season of Love Music Fiesta”.
Organised by the Heritage and Cultural Society of Africa (HACSA), the event will see M.anifest and EL performing.For music lovers, the BreakTheBarrier Concert will be the perfect place to be Saturday night to watch Kuami Eugene, Kidi, and B4Bonah among others perform their hit tracks from 7:00pm.
