IPAC meets today

The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) is expected to meet “active” political parties on Friday, August 21 to discuss issues to do with the much-talked about electoral reforms.

It will be the first Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting under Electoral Commissioner Charlotte Osei.

A major topic of discussion will be a suggestion by Ghana’s largest opposition party, New Patriotic Party (NPP), that the current voters’ register is adulterated.

This suggestion has generated a lot of controversy with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) calling it “frivolous” and “fraudulent”.

Friday’s meeting is scheduled to be held at the headoffice of the EC.
