The National Insurance Commission (NIC) has cautioned the public to be wary of a new insurance firm by name International Insurance (Ghana) Company (IIC).
According to a public notice issued by NIC on Thursday, the new insurance firm is operating without license.
“The NIC wishes to inform the public that it has not licensed any company by name International Insurance (Ghana) Company.”
IIC is said to be operating within the Suhum and Koforidua environs of the Eastern Region.
The firm is reported by NIC to have issued fake insurance policies including cover notes, insurance certificates and insurance motor stickers to its unsuspecting customers.
“All insurance policies issued by the said company are invalid.
“The NIC hereby advises the public not to transact any insurance business with the said company or their agents henceforth.”
