Injunction imposed on U/E Region Council of State elections

Election officers could not conduct the elections as scheduled[/caption] The Council of State elections scheduled to be held in the Upper East Region has been put on an indefinite hold as a result of a court injunction. After the five candidates and their family members as well as sympathisers had gathered at the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs, where the polls were supposed to be held, the injunction notice was served the officials of the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC). The injunction was filed by the Nabdam Assembly with former lawmaker John Akparibo Ndebugri as their lead counsel.
