Member of Parliament for Manhyia North Constituency Akwasi Konadu has blamed
his predecessor, Collins Owusu Amankwaa, for the recent electoral chaos in the Constituency.

Mr Konadu explained the former MP has been causing chaos by instigating ‘vigilantes’ to disrupt the ongoing polling station elections within the Constituency.

Manhyia North Constituency of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been in the news in recent times for bad reasons.

Some contestants for the polling station elections were allegedly disqualified for forging documents among other infractions.

Speaking on Akoma FM‘s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma Monday, March 7, Mr Konadu told host of the show that “even after passing laws to phase out political vigilantes, the former Member of Parliament Collins Owusu Amankwaa packed heavily built men in a mini bus and moved from polling station to polling station to disturb the ongoing polling station elections”.

The Manhyia North lawmaker further lamented that “as a former Member of Parliament you should know better, but stooping low to the level of massing ‘macho men’ just to disturb the electoral processes for his parochial interest is unacceptable”.

Videos and pictures of Mr Owusu Amankwaa with some heavily built men at a polling station have flooded the traditional and social.

The law maker of Manhyia North believes his contender Collins Owusu Amankwaa is spearheading an agenda to disenfranchise his loyalists.
