The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP), Sammy Awuku, has rubbished reports gaining grounds particularly on social media that he is behind a supposed group of disgruntled youth demanding the immediate removal of NPP Chairman, Mr. Paul Afoko.
In a statement purportedly issued by him and NPP firebrand Kennedy Agyapong, a call was made on the party’s youth to converge at the party’s headquarters to demand the resignation of the national chairman Paul Afoko.
Mr. Awuku in a counter statement released Friday, said “is nothing but an evil machination and orchestration by our political opponents who seek to use the unfortunate demise of our Upper East Regional Chairman to cause mayhem and divide our ranks as a party”.
Mr. Awuku called on the youth of the party to dismiss the contents of the letter and treat it with disdain and utmost contempt.

My attention has been drawn to a public statement captioned “We Say Enough is Enough, N.P.P. Youth is demanding resignation of Chairman Afoko With Immediate Effect” on social media and some media outlets.
I wish to state in clear and unequivocal terms that the content of the statement does not in any way reflect my thinking and position on the current happenings in our party and should therefore be treated with disdain and with utmost contempt.
Throughout this challenging moment, what I have called for is for utmost calm from party faithful especially the youth, whiles the leadership of the party works hand in hand with the security agencies to bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act to book.
Thus, the claim that I have asked party youth to mass up at the party headquarters this afternoon at 2;00 is nothing but an evil machination and orchestration by our political opponents who seek to use the unfortunate demise of our Upper East Regional Chairman to cause mayhem and divide our ranks as a party.
As the National Youth Organizer of the N.P.P. my main focus is to effectively lead the youth of the party to produce the next president for our party and country in 2016.
