I’ll hold appointees accountable if I’m Prez – Nana Addo

The flagbearer of the main opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo Addo has reiterated his commitment to hold his appointees accountable for their stewardship if he is given the mandate to be president after the 2016 polls.

Accusing the current administration of doing little to fight corruption and keeping government appointees in check, the three time flagbearer of the NPP indicated that as president he would ensure that all appointees deliver to the best of their abilities and be accountable to the people of Ghana.

He indicated that “I did not enter politics to be fill my stomach, I enter because I want to serve my country and I am pleading with you to give me the mandate to take this country out of its current state of hardship.”

Nana Addo was speaking at the special fundraising ceremony held at the Baba Yara sports stadium in Kumasi over the weekend to raise funds as an alternative source of funding for the party’s activities in the election year.

In attendance was the vice presidential candidate of the party, Dr. Mahmud Bawumia, wife of the flagbearer, Rebecca Akufo Addo, Minority leader of parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu and several other high ranking officials of the party.

Nana Addo in further taking a swipe at the NDC administration said his wife would not be awarding contracts but under his leadership, marshal the country’s resources into building a solid economy.

“I will not run a family and friends government”, Nana Addo added.
