Award-winning Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has revealed his openness to featuring on a Gospel song with Piesie Esther if the opportunity arises.
During an interview on Hitz FM, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Artiste of the Year shared his enthusiasm for Gospel music and expressed a willingness to explore this genre further.
Black Sherif, known for his exceptional talent and hit songs including ‘Kweku Killer’, ‘Oh Paradise’, and ‘Second Sermon’ acknowledged that he already has several Gospel-themed tracks in his repertoire.

He mentioned that songs like “Oil In My Head” and “Soldier” can be considered Gospel songs, albeit with a street Gospel flair.
“I’ll be there because I already do gospel songs already. ‘Oil In My Head’ is a Gospel song, and so is ‘Soldier’.” He pointed out, “Most of the songs I do are Gospel but street Gospel, so we are already in the gospel fraternity but street department.”
Black Sherif, 21, born Mohammed Ismail Sharrif has been successful in carving a name for himself in the street music scene but expressed his readiness to expand his reach to the Gospel music fraternity.
His response aligns with the sentiments expressed by Gospel artist Piesie Esther, who had earlier expressed her hope that Black Sherif would consider joining the Gospel music industry.
Piesie Esther, known for her powerful vocals and impactful music, emphasized that Black Sherif’s vocal prowess could greatly contribute to evangelism if he decides to explore Gospel music.
She expressed her admiration for the 21-year-old artist’s voice and shared her wish for him to someday join her in the Gospel genre.
“He has that kind of powerful voice. I love his voice. It is my wish that someday he will come and join me in Gospel,” Piesie Esther expressed during the show.

Black Sherif and Piesie Esther were tipped as top contenders for the Artiste of The Year at the recently held VGMAs where the latter was adjudged the winner.
Other nominees in the category included Stonebwoy, Camidoh, Sarkodie, Kidi and Joe Mettle.
