Upper East Regional Minister and the 2020 New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Navrongo Central constituency, Tangoba Abayage, has disclosed she has evidence that the incumbent MP, Kofi Adda campaigned against her candidature.
Tangoba beat the Aviation Minister, Mr. Adda, in the party’s primary election to contest the Navrongo Central seat on the ticket of the NPP but lost to the National Democratic Congress’s Sampson Tangombu Chiragia.
She disclosed after her defeat to the media that her loss was partly as a result of her own colleague campaigning against her.
According to her, it is not mere hearsay that Kofi Adda was rather campaigning against her but that she has evidence to that effect.
While she is glad that her political exploits have inspired many to seek higher heights, she is disappointed that some elements within her party worked against their collective interest.
She admitted not having a good relationship with Mr. Adda after defeating him in the party primaries but she had hoped their differences would be patched ahead of the election; that she said was to no avail.
“I met him [Kofi Adda], I apologized, I even wept when I was apologizing”, she said.
She is however confident that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be declared winner in the presidential elections to annex his term.
