He is said to be a part of a group of construction workers who arrived in the country before the country’s airports and ports were closed.

Assembly member for the area, Raymond Gborson, said some locals working at the construction site alerted him of the arrival of the expatriates because they suspected they could be carriers of the virus.

The Municipal Chief executive of the area, Simon Kwesi Tetteh, was informed and a team was dispatched to the construction site.

Routine checks begun until one of them recorded a high temperature. Samples were taken to for testing and came out positive.

The Covid-19 taskforce team led by health personnel has begun contact tracing and taking samples for testing for the virus.

Mr. Gborson has asked his constituents to remain calm and observe the Covid-19 protocols.
