Guinea opposition threatens anti-military protests

The opposition wants the military junta to issue a list of all its members

Guinea’s opposition has threatened to hold demonstrations against the country’s transitional authorities over poor management.

The development comes days after the opposition urged the military junta to issue a list of all its members for the purpose of transparency.

The National Front for the Defence of the Constitution (FNDC) said the transition was going off course.

The duration of Guinea’s transitional process remains unknown.

There was a document that proposed a four-year transition that leaked, but the authorities did not comment.

The opposition group wants clarity on who is part of the junta and the duration of the transitional process.

It compared the situation to Burkina Faso where the coup happened four months after the Guinea one and a committee was set up and a timetable of the transition published.
