2020-2021 Ghana Premier League season opener between Accra Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars has been called off due to Covid-19 related issues from the camp of the Phobians.
The FA said the decision to call the match off is because team members of the Phobians will have to go through extra tests before they can play any official match.
“This decision was taken after the GFA was informed that Players and Officials of Hearts of Oak will need further tests before playing a match,” the FA said.
Hearts of Oak said days ago that three of their team members had tested positive for Covid-19 and were in isolation.
Reports also surfaced that 30 of their players had contracted the virus.
Further tests are scheduled to be conducted by the Public Health services.
The GPL match, which was scheduled to be played at the Agyeman Badu Park I on Saturday, November 14, is postponed till further notice.
