Gov’t gives financial clearance for over 8,000 nurses to be posted

Government has granted financial clearance for some 8,076 nurses to be posted to health facilities across the country.

The appointment of the nurses who completed from various public health training institutions, is expected to take effect from November 1, a statement from the Ministry of Finance sighted by 3news.com stated.

According to the statement signed by a Deputy Minister of Finance, Abena Osei-Asare, the emoluments of the personnel would be charged against the Compensation Employees vote of the Ministry of Health in the 2020 annual estimates.

“The Ministry of Health is to ensure that the Nurse Assistant Clinical and Nurse Assistant Preventive staff have their documents processed in time and placed on the Mechanized Payroll to enable the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department effect payment of their salaries,” it directed.
