Eastern Region’s representative in the 12th edition of TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful pageant Abena seems to be gradually finding her way to the grand finale of the contest with her weekly performances.
Although the contestant has had some low moments for the past weeks, she has had more highs than that.
She has been adjudged Star Performer for three different weeks for her outstanding performances.
Abena emerged as Star Performer for the third time on Sunday, November 11 after exhibiting her very strong debating skills.
The task for the night required that contestants argue for and against the motion, ‘A Ghanaian woman’s place is her home. Otherwise, she is falling foul of tradition. Are you for or against?’
Arguing against the motion, Abena carefully articulated her points as to why a woman should be allowed to pursue a career and not be limited to taking care of the home.
She cited some notable Ghanaian women who have done well career-wise and yet, manage to cater for their homes as well.
She wrapped up her presentation with a call for women to be empowered to pursue their dreams and be part of decision-making processes in the country, hoping that a woman will become president in the not-too-distant future.
At the end of her performance, judges Linda Ampah and Bernie Archer had nothing but good reviews for her.
Asked what makes her keep winning, Abena told Ghana’s Most Beautiful host Johnnie Hughes that it has has been God on her side all this while.
Prior to her third win, Abena was the Star Performer at the maiden live show of the competition where judges commended her for her energy on stage.
She went ahead to emerge Star Performer and Most Eloquent contestant in Week 6 when she mentored a minor to becoming a Ghana’s Most Beautiful contestant.
With four contestants already out of the competition, there is just a few more to go before the grand finale.
Although competitions of this nature come with surprises, Abena seems to have been edging closer to the finale with her exciting performances.
Make a date with Ghana’s Most Beautiful every Sunday at 8:00 pm live on TV3 and all its social media platforms for exciting performances laced with an exhibition of Ghana’s rich culture.
